Naunton is one of those quiet, unspoilt English villages that time and tourist seem to have passed by. Hidden amongst the Cotswold hills where the lazy River Windrush has scooped out a secret fold, Naunton seems a world away from the busy commerce and crowds of Bourton-on-the-Water, Stow-on-the-Wold, and the Slaughters just down the winding lanes.

For over 200 years Naunton Chapel has watched over the village from its hillside seat, looking down on the Windrush's lush water meadows, the clusters of yellow Cotswold stone houses and the cottage gardens of the villagers.

Naunton Chapel

Naunton Chapel is an unusually gracious and spacious building, with a high ceiling and generous, tall windows. Original features remain in place, as befits a historic, listed Church, while recent improvements to sound, heating and seating guarantee the comfort expected by today's congregations. At capacity, the Chapel can seat 150 people for services and concerts, with a fine Nicholson pipe organ providing stirring music for worship.

The Chapel congregation is a friendly, small and committed fellowship drawn from the immediate village and from surrounding locations up to a distance of 10 miles.

The Chapel benefits from a useful kitchen and function room (seats 50). The adjacent terrace sits 40 for outdoor cream teas, with beautiful views over the valley and cottages below. For the less mobile, disabled access is available, both to the church itself and to the adjacent functions rooms. Naunton Chapel is licensed for weddings.
